Your Training Day
Each specialist treatment is taught as a full practical course from 10:00am until 5:00pm, with a tutor demonstration and your own live model.
10:00 — 13:00
Morning: Theory and Preparation
- Hygiene and infection control
- Safe treatment-room setup and working practices
- Skin theory
- Contraindications
- Client consent
- Patch-testing guidance
- Colour theory and pigment selection
- Needle and cartridge fundamentals
- Machine handling where applicable
- Brow or lip mapping
- Symmetry, shape and treatment design
13:00 — 17:00
Afternoon: Practical Live Training
- A tutor demonstration on a live model from start to finish
- A live model for the student to treat
- Fully supervised, step-by-step practical work
- Personal feedback and troubleshooting
- Before-and-after photographs for the student's portfolio
- Aftercare instructions
- Guidance on advising clients correctly

- A live tutor demonstration model
- A separate live model for the student to treat
- Close supervision throughout the practical treatment

Model availability and suitability are subject to confirmation, and the training provider may adjust the practical schedule when necessary.
Qualification and Certification
What you receive depends on your programme. Specialist courses, PMU Essentials and PMU Complete use the applicable ABT or CPD training route for your chosen course and provider. The VTCT Level 4 Pathway and Upgrade Programme follow the VTCT Level 4 qualification route. These are different credentials — we’ll confirm exactly what you’ll receive before you book. Insurance acceptance and council licensing depend on the individual insurer and local authority.
